neutral density filter for landscape photography?
I’m thinking about getting a ND filter for long exposures. but i really don’t know which one i should get in regards of f-stops. In other words, I’m having a hard time deciding what opacity i should get to help me create the long exposure. and what brand i should get.
4-ND is one of the most universal filters.
I use it when I want to increase the length of the exposure and I am already stopped down to f/22.
Using an ND filter can allow you to shoot moving water and have it end up looking like cotton candy.
Just about any brand will do … the best of course are Hoya, BW and Tiffen.
If I need more reduction in lighting, I can add a polarizing filter to the ND and get another stop and a half reduction in the light reaching my film or sensor
