Photography umbrellas and what not?
And the lights. I’m a beginning photographer and I wanted to know what the purpose of them are. And what is there to know about photography? Any info is appreciated 
Umbrellas are used to spread the light from the flash to make it less harsh and more even. In photography it is called “bounce lighting”. Look at SLR add on flashes, the more expensive ones have pivoting heads. This lets you attach a bounce unit (some can be as simple as a folded index card taped to the flash) or you can bounce the flash off the ceiling or wall to make a more natural and less harsh light. There are lots of printed and on line tutorials and lessons out there. Check them out.
